Fame is a Fickle Mistress - The Most Washed Up Celebrities Ever

Fame is a very volatile mistress. When you're a Film Industry celebrity, all you have got to do is make one false move, star in one rotter movie, be embroiled in one scandal, or most of the clip just allow clip base on balls you purchase and you suddenly happen yourself forgotten by everyone except Film Industry archivists and decease hards. As much as many people would wish their stars to reflect forever, it is an unfortunate fact that in the film industry, you celebrity rarely outlives you. A batch of people, especially from the comedy and action sectors have got experienced this first-hand when they decline to diversify or better on their acting prowess.

Here is a listing of those once-big celebrities that used to be portion of our afternoon Sessions or our affectionate conversations but are now relegated to the dorsum burner. Though they may be reconsiderations now, it's also cool to retrieve that there was a clip when these people were once at the top of the human race in their several fields. These suffering psyches include:

- Gary Coleman: Many telecasting fans of pasts would retrieve the hit television show 'Different Strokes' which made people like Gary Coleman famous. His is actually a success narrative of kinds because Coleman was born with a congenital kidney upset that left him a short as he was. He overcame that and became a star on 'Different Strokes', but this too would turn out to be his downfall. He would forever be typecasted as the achromatic child who said "What you talkin' bout, Willis?" and his hereafter enterprises would never fit this success.

- Corey Feldman: One of the shining stars of the 80s became one of its greatest letdowns as Corey Feldman, who was fresh off hit movies like 'Gremlins' and 'The Lost Boys' suddenly turned to drugs and drop victim to their potency. His star drop during the 90s and one of the hottest teen sense experiences of the 80s have yet to retrieve his stride.

- Jean-Claude Van Damme: 'The Muscles From Brussels' was once the top action star in the human race with the release of 'Bloodsport' in 1988. a batch of movies would soon follow to capitalise on the star powerfulness of this newly born action icon, but his calling slowed down in the mid-1990s. He have no recent movies and only a 'What's Your Game' commercial visual aspect to demo for himself recently.

Why Bands Should Not Sell Their Album As A Digital Download

If you're a set trying to find whether or not you should sell your music digitally, or offering it for free online with an optional contribution nexus (Radiohead/Trent Reznor style), then listen up!

I maintain hearing people state that sets like Radiohead or NIN were successful using the digital theoretical account of music statistical distribution only because they already had a large adequate fan base. They state that the theoretical account won't work for littler sets because their fan alkalis have got yet to be established. I have got got no hint what these people are thinking!

The manner I see it is that littler sets stand up to profit more than because they really have nil to lose. After all, the #1 lurching block for new people is trying to acquire their music exposed! What better manner than to offer it for free!

So, how exactly will a set benefit from this method of distribution?

Well, you see if you actually promote people to download your record albums while providing a contribution option that allows them find how much they experience it's worth, you'll accomplish the following:

1) Your music will attain people who desire to hear your style of music. How make I cognize this? It do sense: If you do something more than than than readily available and FREE, more people will be attracted to it!

2) Since your music will attain more people with free digital downloads, more people will come up see you play, not only in your ain town, but also when you're on tour. Remember: None of this tin go on if you don't acquire your music out there in the first place! Besides, your true, traditionalist fans will still purchase records and t-shirts either online or at one of your shows.

The set Bomb the Music Industry is a perfect illustration of the success of this strategy. On their MySpace profile they allow fans DOWNLOAD stallion albums FOR FREE! As a result, they have got had more than than than 300,000 profile views, which also translates into more people attending their shows. Just take a expression at how many shows they have got booked by just visiting their Myspace page!

Clearly, this is the way every set should take, regardless of their degree of popularity. The option to this is a long, drawn out fighting with your fans and with technology... a lose-lose situation! It's clock for instrumentalists to open up their heads to an option for distributing their music. And please, don't bury to play as many all age shows as possible! Don't bury that we were all just some underage hood child once before.

Take Care,

Steve Longoria
